Yeah, I don't think the movie was promoted too much. Nor do I believe it actually did too well, if it even made it to the box office. Not sure if it did or not.
Anyhow, I enjoyed it well enough. The cast is pretty good and, overall, it gets the main storyline correct. As I mentioned, it does leave stuff out and/or changes things. But that's pretty commonplace when it comes to adapting a movie from a book.

Finally getting around to starting Rise of the King. Only read the prologue, so far, but it looks like it will be shaping up to be a good one.

Finished Shield and Crocus by Michael R. Underwood. This one started good. It is a bit different and had a new/interesting concept. A city populated with a variety of peoples each with their own special power. But the city has been taken over by 5 tyrants who have carved out their own domains within the city. The city's goddess has been enslaved and her power is bing used to keep the residents in line. Against this backdrop a small group of freedom fighters struggle to free the city and its goddess. Unfortunately after a good strat this one seemed to drag and the actions of the main characters often made no sense or were contradictory to their earlier actions. There were also a few plot devices that cropped up to save the day. Overall it wasn't a bad novel and I would read further stories set in this world, but at the same time I was a little disappointed.
Next up for me is Blood Rites, book #6 of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.

Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami. Because I am sarcastic and an asshole, I am going to go ahead and boil this book down to its basic foundations: a Japanese man reflects on his feelings and discusses them with others for nearly four hundred pages.
It is the first book that I have read in months. When I finish it here soon, it will be the fourth book that I have read since burning out this past March. It is lovely. I enjoy it. If it has a shit psych-thriller ending, as some small part of me fears, I will throw it at the wall and curse its author until my dying breath.

Finished Butcher Bird. Enjoyed it a lot and am kind of sorry that it doesn't look like there will be a sequel. Ah well, perhaps it's for the best. Sometimes, sequels can be a bad idea.
