Be honest. How many of you have actually heard of her? I had certainly never heard of her until almost ten years ago when I randomly picked up one of her books in a local used book store after being intrigued by the synopsis despite the fact that the cover looked suspiciously like a romance novel geared towards women. This book was called The Legend of Nightfall and since I've already written a review of it on my Facebook page, I'm going to just go ahead and copy and paste that review here. Mind you, my Facebook reviews of books I've read or movies I've seen are not by any means very extensive and I'm most certainly not a professional critic. I simply like to share my opinion concerning titles that I enjoy.
"I remember picking up this book in a used bookstore for something like two dollars because the synopsis intrigued me despite the cover looking like a romance novel. I was pleasantly surprised though at just how entertaining it was. It was not a mind-blowing story by any means but I give it 4 stars because it surprised me and the main character's wit was charming as was the poem that followed his legend. The author wrote the book in '93 but she did not write the sequel until '04 of which I have yet to read. I had never heard of her until I picked up this book some 8 years ago. I really need to get on that and now that I've looked up more titles by her (she really does not have that many it would seem), there is a series called the Renshai Chronicles that I'd also like to pick up as it is supposed to offer an interesting twist on Norse Mythology."
Now as some of you may or may not know, I am a huge fan of mythology. I loved mythology long before I ever knew who Joseph Campbell was (if you do not know who he is then you really need to get on that and I suggest by starting with The Power of Myth) but he made me understand just why I loved it so much. Anyways, that is a little off point. Back on point, my favorite is by far Norse mythology and so I am interested in seeing what she does with it in her Renshai Chronicles. First, I am going to have to re-read The Legend of Nightfall as I remember thoroughly enjoying and then I will have to pick up its sequel as well. I no longer own a copy but I am hoping that it will be easy enough to find. Reichert does not seem to release a lot of titles but I am still confident in their availability.
Concerning The Legend of Nightfall, I wanted to add something else to my Facebook review but since there is no spoiler posting option that I am aware of, I left it out. I am by no means giving away the ending but I could certainly understand why some people would not want to see it and so I shall say it here:
I mean it when I say that if you do not want the ending to be slightly ruined for you, DO NOT click on that spoiler.
It also just occurred to me that although I have read the book two or three times, those times were within a one to two year span and so it has been nearly a decade since I've last read it. I really hope that it is as good now as it was then.

The ending is something of a fairy-tale "and they all lived happily ever after" sort of ending but I still found that I thoroughly enjoyed the book and sometimes you really need one of those happy endings that just make you smile.
