So a bit over a week ago I decided to start a modern age Vampire Masquarade campaign. As a result I went on a trip down the memory lane on the system in general.
It is clear from the start when you look at the system that it is aimed more at a story driven campaign. The dice rolling system is quite clunky and confusing at start and the opposing rolls slow things down quite a bit. Now there was the negative of the system. Now for the positive. The infinite malleability of the system. Not only does it allow you to customize pretty much every aspect of your character but also it is very easy to create your own content for it. I've done everything from stone age to cyberpunk with it. Vampires, werewolves, fae, mages... You can do it all... Or you can make something completely new. So what's your experiences with the system?

I don't have any experience with the system yet, though I was trying for a while to get a human campaign together in the NWoD with the aim of eventually moving toward Geist. Unfortunately, my gaming group is pretty unreliable and we have one member who doesn't remotely enjoy the concept of roleplaying, so though we get together to play games weekly, it isn't often that we actually get to play pen and paper.
The setting appeals to me, even if all that I have seen is a broad outline for one small segment of the world. Unlike D&D, I actually enjoy character creation. As for dice rolling, it seems to have been smoothed out a bit for the new rule system.

Yeah the new system is more streamlined, but suffers from serious issues from with setting and actual feel on the abilities
