So in the twenty plus years that everybody's favorite drow (except for those nutty Jarlaxle fans ) has been depicted in a lot of art. Some of it is official but most of it, I'm fairly certain is fan art. So what is your favorite depiction of Drizzt? Whether it's by one of the famous artists of the Forgotten Realms or somebody from DeviantArt, throw it on up here and tell us why you like it so much. I think some of us can agree there are also some pretty bad depictions out there but let's try to be gentle in our criticisms. If you want to showcase some bad pieces that you've run across, then let's not get insulting. We're not trying to make things personal or anything like that.
I personally remember the cover to the Dark Elf Trilogy. It was the first book I read and I quickly realized that the drow on the cover could not be Drizzt (or any other drow for that matter). I don't know who the artist is and I don't care. He kind of looks like a purple boogeyman:
That was the first Salvatore book I read. I've probably mentioned it before but my first read through of the books were in collected volumes similar to this and I did not read a single novel until Transitions (not counting the last two books in the Sellswords trilogy).
I do believe that it is from the comics but this is easily one of my favorite pictures. I like his posture, the way his hood is drawn, and Guen at his side. He looks like a casual badass:
Also, although I know it is an often talked about subject but if there were to be a live-action movie based on Drizzt, based only on appearance and not acting skills or anything like that, who could you see as the face of Drizzt?
