I just bought plastic sheeting, roach poison, and cupcakes at the store. Might be on a watch list now.

An hour well spent, I'm sure. I picked up a massive ergonomic keyboard from the local thrift store and am struggling to get used to the weirdness. Edited to add: It is this one, only less British:

We Brits do have weird ways of doing (and saying) things...
And my confession is I think I have developed a new addiction to manga... ><

I am testing to see if my trusty ol dancing cat made the move safely.
edit: SUCCESS!! Awesome. I should not be as happy as I am about it, but darn it if I don't love that stupid cat.

Since there's already a lot of cat-related things in this thread, I thought I'd give you your daily dose of cuteness: They're the kittens of a semi-wild outside cat we have. I'm super glad she lets me get this close, though she watches me like a hawk.

And lets not even get started on the pronunciation of Basil or Oregano...

A bit of thinking brought about a couple of potential projects for this here message board, though my laziness likely means nothing will ever come of at least one of them.
1) A cooperative explorations of imagination and monsters in horror, wherein I write a short horror story without ever revealing the monster and ask the readers to describe what you think it might look like. Of interest to me because I consider the reveal detrimental to both the suspense and horror of the story and, because we readers are curious creatures and WANT the reveal, necessary. Why detrimental? In essence: the monster we imagine is often far more horrifying than the one we get. Of course, I'm lazy as can be and this would require me to write and actually be good at it so it probably won't happen.
2) Scheduling story time in chat so our writerly types can have an audience and (possibly) earn special forum-based rewards that I haven't yet thought of or consulted others about yet.

I can arrange awards easily. Anything you need on the technical end I'll handle no problem.

Back to the inane announcements, I stretched/tore the hell out of some tendons in the ball of my foot last week and I am so sick of sitting in my recliner with it elevated I can't stand it. Luckily for me, it's healing, pretty quickly thanks to the evil that is prednisone and not going into work for a freaking week, but I will still be on limited walking orders for the rest of the month. Since my boyfriend is out of town and I don't drive, this severely limits my weekend excursions downtown. Not loving this situation at all.
