Want something new to watch, listen to, or play? Ask away and we'll see what we have to offer.
OR
Have something that you think people will love, but don't think it fits in another thread. Post that here.
Me, I've been on the look out for anime action series from the nineties to mid-oughts that are no longer than two cour (essentially, OVAs, films, and up to twenty-six episodes) or no more than around fifty episodes if it is something that absolutely can't be missed. I've asked Reddit, but the lazy recommendations did me no good--"Hey, I know you asked for less than fifty episodes, but this shonen battler with hundreds of episodes sounds totally up your alley despite your MAL rating every shonen battler you've seen either low or dropped."
I wanted to recommend something other than anime, but it is difficult to come up with something as most of the entertainment I consume (or have consumed for some time now) is anime. I'd do music, but I think I'm the only one here into alt/indie. I do enjoy short films, but I don't keep track of what I watch and that makes it more difficult to point people in any direction. Anime it is, then:
Denpa Teki na Kanojo, a two-episode mystery/thriller OVA that is pretty damn good and absolutely brutal at times. OVAs don't get the heavy promotion that films and television series do and tend not to get official distribution outside of Japan, so they are often ignored by or unknown to those who lack a penchant for sailing. They'll turn up in recommendations sometimes, but not often enough. This one, this one I enjoyed quite a lot.
