As a huge Star Wars fan, this book was amazing. The start of one of the biggest events in the lore, it set the stage for the galaxy for years after. The writing always kept me in suspense, and the characters are brilliantly written. Though there is one thing about that book that still depresses me, and anyone that has read it knows exactly what I'm talking about. So, what does everyone else think about this book?

Bahaha, that's great. One of the many reasons I love Mayhew.

Ah, the book that caused people to send Bob death threats. Haven't read it, but I'm not really into the Star Wars books.

I enjoyed the book a lot. I wish I could say the same about a lot of the rest of the New Jedi Order. Such a mixed bag of novels.

I have Vector Prime in my bookshelf...should be no surprise to those that know me. Sadly I did not check out the other books in The New Jedi Order series. As I wasn't a die hard SW fan with little extended knowledge about Lightsabers. My friends comment about the lack of commenting on the colour of the sabres didn't resonate until my knowledge expanded. I get it now, but still feel that VP is a good read for SW fans... if they could get by that minor death.....geeze...read G.R.R. Martin and see if that upsets you ;-)

I haven't read Vector Prime (though I have read other books in the series!), but I think the death of an established, well known and beloved character from the original trilogy is much more surprising than anything that Martin could throw at us. After all, the majority of his character kills are either heavily foreshadowed, the obvious end product of stupidity, or plot-armored fake out fade to black. I'm really only surprised when he kills off random minor characters and then, only if they manage to gain traction with me first.

I wasn't saying the characters should live forever, I am saying that Bot got a lot of misplaced hate/grief because of this death. Who cares for spoiler tags anyways.. wasn't this book published in another centruy... oh well.. I am all moonstruck anyways.

Of course, now that Disney has put the EU to the torch in favor of a shiny new multimedia canon, the moon has been winched away from Chewie's corpse-paste. As soon as they dig out the shovel and bike pump from the garage, he'll be up and roarin' again in no time. Well, until Disney pulls the trigger. I'm thinking that Bob will avoid that offer if it comes across his desk.
