I normally only listen to some form of Metal, but this track has been played more times than I can count since I heard it when I played the game. It's amazing! www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-l4kHhbGCE

I've been listening to the OST for Terror in Resonance (Zankyou no Terror), which is composed by the amazing Yoko Kanno. I'm not one of those people who get into music from anime, but sometimes you run into something too good to ignore.

Got into a Linkin Park thing the past couple days and not sure why. So far my mind has made music videos for nearly every song and they involve Drizzt and Entreri mostly. It entertains me though now I really want to animate them...but I'm not that good and neither is my computer.

I've been listening to this on repeat, though I can't really say what I like about it. Honestly, I think the song is pretty generic, but there are some parts of it that just hook me.

Originally posted at the same place I pull all of my posts from, my Ello. Speaking of Kansas, here's The New Basement Tapes: The local alt radio station plays this song entirely too much and I am at fault for including it on the playlist I listen to at home, but the song has managed to retain its luster even after hearing it several times a day for the past couple of months. It is a song that doesn't get old or tired even when other songs with similar treatment (looking at you, Gooey) do and that is, at least for me, a rare thing. There was a lot of hype surrounding this band from my local radio station. There was bound to be since their first single involved Kansas City, Dylan handled the lyrics, and Marcus Mumford, somehow popular despite Mumford and Sons, was on vocals. I get the hype. It is a good song. However, the bad thing about hyping a band because of one song is that it might lead one to assume that much of the content would be similar. For a long while, until I actually went and searched out the album on my own, I assumed that this would be a bunch of Dylan songs fronted by Marcus Mumford with some talented folks along for the ride to play instruments. As much as I like "Kansas City", that doesn't appeal to me all that much. I am not much of a fan of Mumford and Sons and Mumford has one of those voices that makes it difficult to separate him from them; the prospect of Mumford and Sons with good songwriting didn't excite me. The assumption was completely wrong. The New Basement Tapes album, Lost on the River, is an eclectic mix of talents and styles and it is, in the opinion of someone largely ignorant when it comes to talking about music, pretty damn good. "Kansas City" might have drew me in, but it wasn't the only one to leave an impression and not the only favorite to be found. It didn't take long for "Spanish Mary" to overtake it. And then there are the two versions of "Liberty Street" or "Six Months in Kansas City", which aren't favorite but still manage to draw me in with the weirdness of their opening lyrics. This post was supposed to be a few words about "Kansas City" and a video. Not sure how it spiraled. Still, go and listen to the album... if there is anyone listening out there in the wasteland.
