What what, how did I miss this occurrence? Somehow I just stumbled upon the Facebook reference, so thought I'd say hello. I go by Bluepona and was more active a few years ago, particularly in the wee small hours(for me) hopping into chat to be entertained by the resident nutters I do miss that! I was first introduced to Bob's writing when I picked up Thousand Orcs in a bookshop some years ago and started reading it in the bath...I was a prune by the time I managed to stop! I've just finished Rise of the King and thought I'd look up the old boards, but it seems very quiet in there! Hope life is treating you all well x

Welcome aboard, Blue. Things may have slowed down to a trickle around these parts, but it is good to see you about. We advertised a bit over on Facebook, but there's a lot of noise to get lost in over there.

Welcome. Yeah, this place started off pretty well, but has since died off a bit. Ah well...it's still a good place to visit and, hopefully, it will pick back up again.

That we do. Welcome aboard, although it's pretty much dead over here, as of late.

Yeah.... so, so very late in noticing this. Welcome aboard. Unfortunately, forums being what they are in this day and age, there isn't a ton of activity here and hasn't been for quite a while. Not enough members to keep things afloat. I have thought about trying to round up folks to get things moving again, but that sounds too much like work.

Stephen (or Steve). I used to like the Drizzt books, but like my old Saturday Morning cartoon favorites, I eventually matured and moved on to better things. I'm looking forward to engaging with members of this community on topics pertaining to better fantasy novels and authors.

I'm looking forward to engaging with members of this community on topics pertaining to better fantasy novels and authors. Why would you intentionally join a forum dedicated to one particular author and his work, if you want to discuss "better" fantasy novels and authors? Why would you not find their dedicated forums and engage other fans of those authors and novels?

That be why.

I did mean better novels. I'm a fan of the Demon Wars universe but the Drizzt books have become the laughingstock of heroic fantasy.

I am curious -according to whom have the Drizzt books become the laughingstock of heroic fantasy? Not the fans that keep buying them, nor the publishers who keep publishing them, I would think. And, if I am not mistaken, the majority of the Drizzt books have made it to the NY Times bestseller list. Hardly the sign of being a laughingstock.

As much as I do enjoy the increase in posts your nonsense creates, I seem to recall a time when you insisted my lady parts would kill our board, crookedbone . I'm not sure this is the place for you.
